The most common cause of SMC hanging or freezing when opening DAServer Manager is a missing Wonderware.OPT file in the license directory. The file doesn’t need to contain anything, it just needs to be present. You can re-create it with notepad and just name it accordingly. The file should be in C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\ArchestrA\License\ on 64-bit operating systems and in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ArchestrA\License\ on 64-bit operating systems.
