LMX and NMX protocol difference

  • Local Message Exchange (LMX) Provides direct services to a client component. This includes infrastructure services that support communication between Automation Objects on the same Engine. LMX routes messages to NMX when it needs to communicate to another process (or engine).
  • Network Message Exchange (NMX): Includes infrastructure services that support communication between objects on different Engines that are either on the same Platform or on different ones connected by the network. NMX provides queueing capabilities for interprocess communications.
  • NMX is packaged as part of the Platform. LMX is packaged as an internal component of all Engines.
  • NMXSVC TCP 5026 Outbound Archestra Communication Channel. Peer-to-Peer, bidirectional  between all  ArchestrA-enabled nodes.
